To be honest with you, if you believe that we should judge a person’s morality based on anything other than their real actions in the real world, and their stated beliefs and stated intentions, then that’s your right.
It’s also my right to believe that that belief makes you a bad person.
If you believe that you can judge someone’s morality based on their thoughts, I think that makes you a bad person.
If you believe that you can judge someone’s morality based on your interpretation of the fiction they wrote– and not what they have said about why they wrote that fiction, I think that makes you a bad person.
