Some anti-shippers really act like proship means “dangerous offending paraphile who is deeply perverted and cant’ be good in any way and should be kept away from society” instead of just like “person who doesn’t give a flying fuck about what other people ship” and it’s really uncomfortable to witness.
This is why I refuse to use the terms antiship and proship any more. They aren’t useful.
People may call themselves “antiship” but what they are is pro-censorship bullies who attempt to control public fandom spaces through threats and harassment.
Likewise it’s pointless to say “proship” when what you mean is “a normal fan who doesn’t harass others or advocate censorship.”
Saying “proship” or “antiship” just confuses people and gives leverage to pro-censorship fans who want to control the narrative of fandom.
