hi, it’s new-to-selfshipping anon again, and i’ve made a sideblog to reblog posts about my f/o’s! i have three of them now, but i still feel like i’m not doing it right? a lot of your previous response to me was about engaging with the selfship community which was nice, but more of my problems lie with the logistics of actually selfshipping. to me, as an aromantic, this is sort of like my substitute for romance with irl people due to trauma, but i’ve seen a lot of selfshippers who talk about their f/o’s like they’re real and put a lot of effort into those relationships like they were with real people. i fully respect that, but i feel like i’m just not doing it right because i’m not that committed. i’m a very romantic person in a lot of ways, hence the selfshipping, but i also know my f/o’s are just that, fictional, and i feel kind of uncomfortable with the idea of committing to them like they are real people. i love them, thinking about being in relationships with them make me feel very happy, i have full control over these relationships, but i feel like a massive poser. they’re so appealing to me because they’re fictional and they can’t hurt or reject me unless i want them to, but should i be treating my relationships with my f/o’s like they are with real people? should i be taking them out on dates and talking about them like they are my actual partners? again, this is all very new to me and i’m very confused. thank you so much in advance, i’m sorry this is such a long ask.
