To the anti who sent us an ask and didn’t want us to publish it for fear of being attacked by other antis:
Thank you for being so reasonable, and I hope you achieve the goal that you told me about.
The terms antiship and proship aren’t good labels in general; labels are difficult because they are vulnerable to being twisted by both the people who use them and the people who oppose them.
It’s so frustrating seeing the most extreme and obnoxious antis try to assert that being ‘proship’ means you are pro irl child molestation.
It would be nice if groups that were not talking about fiction would stop trying to co-opt the proship label.
Likewise, I’m sure it’s frustrating for you to see the most extreme and obnoxious of your community sending death threats and acting like fiction is brainwashing.
at the end of the day I think the best message is “ship and let ship” but unfortunately, you and I both know that the extremist antis that you hate– the ones who dox and harass– will use that as an excuse to attack people who use it.
Let’s hope for peace in the new year.
