Regrading your post about antis seeing something that isn’t even about them and instantly taking it personally: YES!!! I had this happen to me not too long ago! I had a short paragraph that was vaguely telling off a cyber-stalker of mine (No names mentioned) and this anti came into my DMs and started yelling at me, accusing me of making that post directed towards them and I was just befuddled because I had zero clue who they were until they contacted me.

Antis are quick to point fingers at proshippers instead of addressing the grooming problem happening in their own communities Proshippers pointed out that a YouTuber who recently confessed to having been inappropriate to minors as young as 13 has “proship/pedos dni” in bio and wanted to make people aware of a very obvious pattern when it comes to antishippers. Adults like this YouTuber make minors think they’re “safe” since they’re against the “glorification of pedophilia”. Because antis have, in recent years, dropped all online safety and wariness of strangers, they blindly believe anyone who is “on their side” And it led to grooming cases often. So very often. Of course proshippers aren’t innocent either, but they have continuously called this problem out for years and antis still point fingers at others, ignore the problem, paint them as the bad guys and are lying about wanting to “protect” minors it’s scary that I’ve seen minors who are as young as 13 defending their adult friends who encourage them to ignore nsfw warnings/boundaries, to follow locked nsfw accounts, defend adults who share nsfw art either in DMs or publicly to “warn” them about “criminal” activity, who encourage them to interact with people they think are predators, finding excuses for it like “well if the media is for minors/if it involves sexualizing them, they should obviously comment on it!”, end up sharing poorly censored csam and still have the gall to call themselves nornal None of this is normal! And I’m worried for these kids because how brainwashed must they be to defend the obvious signs of something going VERY wrong!??? Please Minors, you can feel squicked out about anything, and I agree current online safety measures don’t protect you enough from nsfw, but you shouldn’t seek it out and any adult who encourages you to look it up or to find predators before they find you is not safe. Ever.

same as other anon, I can’t back on Tumblr after having been absent for years (we didn’t have shipping discourse in 2015 lmao) and was like “whatever shipping discourse is, it sounds fucking stupid” and then the more anti posts I saw the more I realized that they’re specifically the ones who have the most asinine takes and harass people for literally just vibing. like when one side is “I think people should be allowed to write whatever fiction they like” and the other side is “certain types of fiction are/should be illegal” it’s not hard to pick sides even if I don’t write any “problematic” ships and don’t even really write or read that much fanfic generally. it’s just such a no-brainer argument.

I hate the way that the mature label is unequally applied. It’s generally only applied to educational posts or discourse, especially ones from a free speech or proship perspective, while posts complaining about horrible incest and those people who like “fictional cp” [<- irony] etc get posted with a full facefull of mature topics like suicide and rape and no mature label. What I’m saying is that I think people report topics as missing a community label as a form of soft censorship. More than once I’ve found something I’ve posted or reblogged has a shiny new missing community label tag right after I get anon hate.
