Honestly I’m transmasc and I really like trans Apollo, with characters like that sometimes it’s more of a relatability thing, like the desire to have a man like you, plus canon trans men are usually in pretty short supply. I guess the important thing is to tag it so it’s easier to avoid for those who are made dysphoric by it, especially if it’s a pwp type fic, but things like transmasc!reader are so rare that it’s about the next best thing for some tbh

I get what you’re saying but could it be that the reason it’s mostly explicit fics tagged as trans Apollo is because that’s when it’s “relevant” Like, a general fic of Apollo going out to get ice cream could feature either cis or trans Apollo but the fic is just about the guy living his life. So it wouldn’t necessarily need to be tagged as trans Apollo Justice hes just existing

“how can you look at this short man and think that he’s cis?”Congratulations on hitting a common insecurity many cis men have! The idea that if you’re not tall enough, you’re not *man* enough! Only people born female can be short and insecure!Or the opposite, looking at a tall, strong, badass woman (think Samus Aran) and immediately going “yeah no she has a dick there’s no other way <3" oh thanks for implying women can only be tall and strong if they have testosterone in their body.I get that a lot of trans headcanons are based on little more than “they’re just like me fr fr”, but sometimes the implications are a bit unfortunate. And sure, one person doesn’t make the difference… but when it starts to become popular fanon, I’m sorry but I start to side eye.I’ll be even more controversial: the way I see many fans headcanon only the prettiest/shortest men as trans brings me back to the era of seme/uke, where it was just assumed that the cheerful, more sensitive guy had to be the “woman” in bed.Anyway, sorry for the rant, and even more sorry that you were made to feel uncomfortable :(

As someone who headcanons Apollo as transmasc, i also have the tag blocked. I started headcanoning it because he’s my favorite character and I like making my favorite characters more relatable to me specifically. But it’s just the way people are uncomfortable about it. I’m half considering changing my hc to make him enby or salmacian to avoid the fetish adjacent way people treat him. (Though to be fair, enby and salmacian hcs aren’t free of fetishism but it’s less prevalent for him)

BIG agree with the post about ace attorney and GNC men. The series’ portrayal of gender roles is so gross sometimes! It cannot be normal about a woman being in charge of a man too, which drove me insane the first time I played it.
