Do you think it’s weird to ask people to confirm their ages in dms? I have a very strict 18+ policy on my blog, have ‘minors and ageless blogs DNI’ in my pinned and bio, and softblock ageless blogs. If they try to follow me more than a few times, I send them a dm telling them what’s up and ask them to tell me their age directly so they can follow me. I would never ask for an ID, just a ‘yes I am 18+’, but a few people have gotten real huffy about it… :/

Hi, I’m the anon from awhile back who had to unfollow a fic author for asking for people’s IDs. Well update on that, they stopped doing that now. Only now they set up commissions for their writing. Which doesn’t sound like a good idea from how fanfic has more legal hoops to jump through unlike fanart does. Oh, and they wrote this down on their “will write” list, “No pedo requests!! I will not write a minor x adult! So I will age up characters for certain scenarios!!” Which…I get of it’s a personal comfort thing, but am I overreacting for how the wording rubs me the wrong way? It gives off “You literally fucked a 15 year old!” vibes. You know what I mean? I’m glad they stopped with the IDing thing, but the commissions is giving me bad omens their way and some anti vibes with that “no pedo requests!!” shit. Which would also be ironic if they are anti as this is the same author I mentioned who makes great non-con.

I know this is random but in my main fandom there’s like implied incest between the main character and her father who is the villain and yet there’s anti shippers who stick their head in the sand and pretend it don’t exist because iTs InCeSt It’S yUcKy yet before the villain was revealed to be her dad people were perfectly okay with the ship and made fan art n shit. also there’s like a whole ton of problematic shit in the story like: •Genocide of Native Americans (caused by the dad) •The dad cheating on his wife •The dad facing brutal curses from an ancient spirit •The dad murdering the girl’s suitors and fiancé in cold blood and locking her up in their haunted manor for eternity and tormenting her for no rhyme or reason •THE IMPLIED INCEST

Actually, you can put individual summaries for each story in your multifandom oneshot book collection on AO3. There’s an option for chapter summaries! But no one uses them, so naturally, no one knows about that little feature. In fact, the few times I’ve seen it used is when I’m binging fic and the author uses it as a “PREVIOUSLY ON… [FIC NAME].” as a recap. All the same, fuck those multifandom oneshot “books” Fuck them in the ass.

Probably isn’t a hot take here, but I don’t think it’s been said enough so here goes. I would rather someone get off to lolisho content than actual CSEM. Better someone gets sexual satisfaction from Kana(Ms. Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid)than from the images found in “Sad Satan.” Already though, what someone gets off to is none of my business, but fictional children sounds better than real children because then no one is getting hurt. I saw a post about antis leaving fandoms and I think there’s more to it than it meets the eye: they’re just moving into newer, more popular fandom. You know how almost capitalistic new fandoms nowadays are, series are supposed to be binged, they’re a huge hit for months or max year or two then bam, everyone expects you to move on. We know most of antis are under 20-23, so they follow that “social media way of consuming media” pattern. Hence that’s why fandom that was a huge hit in 2019 will have less percentage of antis in 2023 than when it was at its peak. For example: BSD – I was in that fandom around 2016 when it was relatively unknown manga and I don’t recall stumbling into antis. Nowadays, when BSD is hella popular (esp on tiktok) there are antis everywhere. Ship that was raging with popularity back then is now considered “problematic” cuz age gap. I myself am in fandom (although half dead) that reached peak popularity during 00s and it’s hella rare to run into an anti. So yea, I defo think “catch it while it’s hot” trend is in coleration with % of antis in a fandom

If I can tell a feel – good story. I also used to be.. uhh very dictatorial about my boundaries due to past abuse, until I met someone who had the same double as me (which I had in my DNI) but.. she was so nice to me and I realized “maybe it can’t hurt to be friends with her” And to this day we have a blast talking about the same FO. I’m not saying people should just let their walls down but idk I thought I’d talk about this experience.

It just makes me sad to see people seething about their boundaries. I used to have a lot of trouble establishing boundaries, and I still struggle enforcing them irl. The comfort I get blocking people I don’t like is something I find vital to my experiences online. They can’t hurt me from behind the block.

There are nicer ways to tell someone to respect boundaries, but that’s not even how boundaries work. I saw you reblog a post about wishing there was more masc!reader fanfic out there. And I just gotta say, yeah, I agree. But I’d also like to let you know that there is more masc!reader fics being made. Slowly, but surely. However also, some of the writers of those fics, have a tendency to be assholes. One I came across put a dni towards fem/fem aligned readers on their stories. The issue with that was they had that “I decide who is or isn’t fem and straight” attitude. Feeling as though they had the right to make someone come out if their blogs didn’t list if they masc and/or queer. Like dude, if someone is reading your fic despite not having their gender or sexuality listed in their blog, chances are they’re either in the closet and/or an egg.

So this is totally random, but I think I discovered something! I think part of the reason we introject fictives (and just in general form headmates) super easily is that we are MASSIVELY polykin and the brain goes “oh dear, too much conflicting info, let’s separate this out into more discrete packages”. I could be wrong, but I was thinking about how I think I am kin with Tinker Bell (multiple versions, but especially her own movies and the Gail Carson Levine books) and how I had wanted? Or do/will want? Linear time is not how we are perceiving time rn, anyway, that we want/ed to introject her and her friends. And I’m thinking… I am Tinker Bell, but I am also myself (🌙). And I have a very weak sense of my own identity for multiple reasons which causes distress, so when a stronger identity coexists within me specifically, the stronger identity gets ejected into its own headmate to preserve mine. (Weirdly, this happens a LOT with faeries. Or perhaps not so weirdly, as our strongest and most universal kintype is faekin.) Anyway, just infodumping at you over ask lol. I just thought you might find this interesting :D

Idk if this is like a lk vent post but I’ve noticed that I have a loooot of problematic favs and it makes me sometimes feel conflicted. It’s obvious that I don’t condone terrible actions but I still genuinely like these characters. Have you guys ever heard of the songs Sword of Drossel and Knight of Letzel? They’re Vocaloid songs about two siblings, from each sibling’s POV (SoD is from the younger sister, KoL is from the older brother). I like them for two main reasons; The sister turns into a (implied) warlord by the end due to Blinded By Hate syndrome and the brother had a sister complex (he refers to his sister as “dear, dear, lovely you” and “the one I love most of all” and is shown to declare to roses (which represent his sister, as shown when he calls her a “crimson rose that blooms in my homeland”) an eternal, unending love) and I just It’s just if you guys like some angst and don’t mind the fact they’re both in Japanese (English subbed versions are available on YouTube) I think it’s worth listening to them they do Things to my brain
