hot take; saying someone “was groomed” and giving no other information about it gives me literally zero idea of what kind of abuse was actually done to the person.
Which is totally okay if you don’t want to share your trauma, but just saying you or someone else “was groomed” on its own is pretty meaningless these days with the way people have devalued the word.
It’s pretty much exactly like when someone says “that person is a pedophile” and I have no idea now if they are an active child molester or if they enjoy anime with cute aesthetics.
I can no longer hear that someone “was groomed” and have a good idea of what they are talking about because people now use the term so loosely.
