I rewatched happy sugar life recently and it’s analysis time Satou tries to pretend she above all the people around her as her motivations are “love” But she is just using shio for joy, I don’t remember a time where she asked shio what she wanted. Just making her “dream” a reality without thinking about what shio wants. In the intro she is moving her around like a puppet. It’s also strange how everyone in that world is so open with their evilness that they will make it clear how corrupt they are the second they are challenged on anything.

I’m not trying to say “””problematic””” ships are of higher quality than vanilla ones because that’s inherently not correct. But, I’d say “””problematic””” ships have capacity to be more intriguing and even more realistic in some aspects (example: dysfunctional relationship between two deeply troubled characters). Because when you stick to vanilla, there’s a predefined codex of what characters are allowed to do and what not. Anything beside that strictly defines set of rules and morals is seen as unacceptable.Basic example, imagine character keeps on pushing other character’s boundaries because they think other getting used to something is normal. Is that healthy relationship behavior? Not really. But is it more realistic outcome when one is frustrated with other’s boundaries than to play therapists or tollerating certain behavior ad infinitum? Yup, seen countless irl examples like that. How about character having deep flaw they’re unable to overcome or it becomes domino effect for chains of tragedies that happen later on? Never moving on from loss or wallowing in own misery because character doesn’t think they deserve better – and having fate fuck then up even further.Ofc, vanilla can be fun to read, lighthearted. But I rarely see it possess depth. It rarely shows complexity of human nature, the ‘darker’ side. When antis say “””profic”‘” they mean fic that contains taboo subjects such as SA or hardcore abuse, but they’re missing the point. To me dark fics mean freedom of exploration of human’s psyche. I’m tossing characters together like barbie dolls and I don’t care if some barbie’s head falls off or barbie house catches on fire. If it means scenario and possibilities are more intriguing to explore

Sorry for the essay here, but I feel like we need to talk about these types of antis more with the hypocritical type who like problematic media but will lose it if they see it in fandom. And tw for mentions of SA and murder.I can not stand antis who make everything to be problematic and go on witch-hunts over what they made up. For example, and not sure if you know about this from the MHA fandom, a couple years ago antis we’re throwing a fit and accusing the mangaka, Horikoshi, of making a chapter with rape in it. Called him every name under the sun, wished death upon him, and described the panels in graphic sexual detail and accused him as finding it “hot” and “sexy.” But here’s the thing, it wasn’t a rape scene nor was it sexualized, romanticized, or every buzzword antis like to use.I’m speaking as someone with a non-con kink and let me tell you, I know a non-con moment when I see one. No, the scene was graphic and it was disturbing, but no SA was happening. No it was disturbing because it had the character Twice being forced to watch his friend Toga almost get brutally murdered by clones of himself.These antis are so quick to call someone a pervert and accuse them of doing something sinister and disgusting, while that’s not even happening at all. And it’s down right disturbing because they do all this shit without warning. If you’re gonna wrongly talk about something in the wrong graphic details, then tag it, god damn. Or get critical thinking skills, because they are lacking if the confuse brutal murder with SA and act like you’re the morally superior one while you tell the accused to die.

JACK OMG Im pretty sure I just got blocked by an anti. (I’m not sure because I usually dont interact with people and whatever on things like this)I’m a neutral btw.But this person posted this thing of writers and how they put their favorite character through a lot of pain in their fics and such and I was like oh haha funny.AND THEN they had a keep reading button so I obviously clicked it and it was them telling pro-shippers to not interact because they’re pedophile likers.Then I checked the comments and people were asking about what pro-ship is and someone replied to one person and told them that its pedophilia. I know that’s not true so I corrected it by simply just replying to the question and saying pro-ship is anti-harassment against people and their fictional ships (by my knowledge and research). And as I went to go respond to the other people asking, it said its unavailable etcetc and so I checked their account and it wont load – but everyone else’s loads.

I spent most of my life not know what antis are so I thought what I saw was just fandoms and I had left for a bit, what I saw was a bunch of adults celebrating a 12yrold killing themself. Things like “good the scum is gone” or “lol didn’t think they would but good”. Genuinely thought everyone in fandoms were like that, and dealing with shit I said no.I finally joined back and what caused me to find out about antis, was them “coding” real people. It was a couple both the same legal age, the girl 4’11 and the boy 6ft. They were attacked for helping pedos, for enabling pedos and for just being freaks. Mainly attacking the boy for dating someone “clearly minor coded” and telling them they were only together because he couldn’t fuck real children and he was making do with a lookalike. When the girl told them to stop because it was making her insecure about her body, they attacked her saying how she probably loved how she looked because pedos would rape her instead. Yeah, so in the comments I learned what a anti was and I realize I was kinda one (fiction = morality) and I never wanted to be associated with those people (above) so I quickly changed lol. Sorry for the rant
